Next Day Camp is Spring Break! April 20-24, 9:30am-12:30pm. $65 per child. Please register by emailing angieludlow@gmail.com. Space is very limited.
Allowing children the opportunity to be truly creative is one of my favorite pleasures in life. While crafts with a final product in mind are great and can make wonderful keepsakes or gifts, I also enjoy the creativity involved with "process" art. I believe the child is the true master artist. Simple crafts are a great way to visually see the inner personality of a child. One child might take a linear approach while the next child is completely abstract. Observing each in their own process is such a treat! So while some of our art might come off as "junk" to the parent...it is truly beautiful to the creator. In Camp we hope to offer many opportunities for them to express themselves in this way.
And of course we can't have a Craft Camp without those adorable keepsakes we'll treasure long after they've grown. So I try to make sure we get enough of those as well! Most of our weekly (or larger) crafts are wood based. Hopefully something the parent would be proud to display at home. An example is the "Patriotic Lady" as seen below.
Each Camp also includes games, play (we must keep those creative juices flowing!), and story time. I've found all of these add up to a large dose of fun for the child. And FUN is all that matters to the child!
Here is a little peak at the fun we've had at Craft Camp in the past:
